fanculo i girasoli – fuck the sunflowers

Appunto.
Siamo fotografi, fanculo i girasoli.

That’s it.
Stop shooting sunflowers, I saw sunflowers pictures *everywhere* and of every kind, each time with their ultra-bright yellow, each time contrasting with the green of their leaves and with the blue of the sky, perfect in their sharpness, lonely standing out or vomiting on you all their unrestrainable numerical superiority in expanses that neither the Terracotta Army could play down.
Thanks to the Gods of Heaven August has nearly come to an end, the sunflowers have the end they deserved: transformed in fucking oilseed, the stems cut, crumbled, waiting for the sacred fire which will do justice to our outraged eyes, giving dignity and nutrients back to mother Earth.
The sunflowers, when September comes, are these, like it or not. Pretending is useless, the world ain’t all poppies, bright skies and lovely clouds, laughing kids, tiny sailboats and damned sunflowers.
The world is pulp, rotten and disgusting, and this is why it’s damn gorgeous, because it never lose the sense for contrast, by which we can value and judge what we see, we feel, at least until we get so dumb that we start shooting sunflowers instead of reality.
We’re photographers, fuck the sunflowers.
